{ look book }

PLANNING a photo-shoot is crucial. Details such as location, clothing & accessories all play a role in the final product. When coming up with ideas remember to stay true to who you are :) It's important to keep in mind your budget for the upcoming shoot, I recommend if your low on budget first look through your wardrobe for some inspiration. If you are doing a family shoot, take that inspiration into the other individuals' closets and try to find something that coordinates with your inspirational piece. THEN you can decide several locations where your "look" will be a good fit. If budget is not the issue, you can discuss location before or after outfit choice. If you choose location before you can shop accordingly. Regardless here are a couple reminders when searching for your outfit:

1. Always keep in mind what the outfit(s) are going to look like on camera and in your location. Question yourself... Will it be too busy for the background? Too simple and plain? What is my theme?

2. Think accessorize. The smallest accessories can make the BIGGEST difference. Whether it be a bow in the hair or a watch on the wrist these things are seen by the camera.

3. Something not often discussed. Think texture and color. Texture can make a dull photograph pop. Especially in children's and family portraits. Color can turn an entire photograph around.

4. Don't overdue it. Although it's important to be aware of your choices of your "look." Don't make the process stressful. Have fun with it, make it a family event & remember your creating memories that will be with you forever regardless of what you are wearing.

I know I'm up late rambling on... but I have provided an example of a "look book." From time to time I will post examples of a "look" possibility. If one of them catches your eye, feel free to run with it for your next photo-shoot! Enjoy.
